JFK Haiku

When given this task, I didn't know what to write. I've dabbled with songs in the past, but poetry was never really something I'd ever thought about giving a go. However, as my interest in the JFK assassination increased (who doesn't love a good conspiracy theory?!) I thought about basing my poem on an ancient form of Japanese poetry, the haiku. This would allow me creative flair as a writer, but also have a structure to follow so I didn't feel out of my depth. As I began writing I realised I wanted to write more than one haiku to convey my point and some small facts about the JFK assassination, so I've currently written three for this task.

Enjoy!

35th president
shot down dead, conspiracy
goodnight JFK

lee harvey oswald
gunned down himself, conspiracy
goodnight murderer?

jack ruby, mafia
stole a life for jacqueline
conspiracy thrives
